As Terry’s sister-in-law (Lewis’ sister), I was shocked to hear the sad news about Terry’s illness and death. My heart goes out to her entire family and especially her three children as well as her sisters, particularly to her daughters, Rachel and Britt, at this time when they are engaged. I know this is a great loss for you, Lewis. Terry was way too young to die and what an awful thing to happen to her. I felt so terrible when I found out! I’ll always miss the good times we had together at our many family dinners back when I lived in Illinois, and I wish we never had to move away. I’ll always remember our discussions and how inquisitive Terry was with her interest in wanting to know every detail about my life and the definite opinions she had. She displayed a friendly, caring attitude and had a unique way about her of making anyone she spoke to feel totally comfortable in answering her questions and opening up about themselves to her. I know she’ll be greatly missed by all her friends and those who loved her and worked with her.

Dear Lewis and Family,
Terry will always hold a special place in my heart! She would bend over backwards to help anyone in need. Many years with North Shore School District #112 for which I had the pleasure of working and knowing her. She was always the go-to person for anything! So fun to be around and a very dear friend. Loved to hear her talk about her family with such love. Always wanted to do the right thing and lived her life to the fullness. I will continue to keep her in my prayers as well as your family. Sincerely, Linda Iovino

Terry was one of the first people I met in district 112 while interviewing as a new teacher, and her kind welcome helped me relax before my final interview. Over the years she graciously helped by taking my ID photo in her little front office when I missed staff photos, complimenting my outfit and arranging her office for the best lighting 🙂 She provided encouragement while I waited in her office before many internal interviews, and opened her special candy drawer to welcome us when I brought my young daughter and newborn in to sign some paperwork. Her many small kindnesses are not forgotten. <3
